You are going to need the following items: a pencil, a measuring tape, a level, a drill with the right-sized drill bit, a screwdriver and your new cabinet knobs which you have purchased from simply knobs and pulls to place onto the cabinets.
Matching Your Style
When choosing the right cabinet knobs, make sure that you choose items that complement the pre-existing hardware in your bathroom or kitchen. Also, make sure that the screw that you are going to be using is the right-sized screw to fit your cabinet knob and go through the depth of your drawer. If the screw is too short or too long, you will need to make sure that you purchase the correct-sized screw.
Taking Measurements and Installing
After getting the correct cabinet knobs for your kitchen or bathroom and the right-sized screws, now determine where you would like your cabinet knobs to be placed in reference to your cabinets. Using your measuring tape figure out the exact center of the drawer or place on the drawer where you would like your hardware piece to reside. If you are worried about writing on your cabinets, you can use painter’s tape to place onto the cabinets and then make your markings accordingly. You can also use a drilling template for the job, this saves a lot of time and energy.
After making your placement on each drawer, if they are next to one another, take your level line up the markings and ensure that the markings are level with one another. Once they are level it is time to start drilling into the cabinet drawers. Before you drill, make sure that the screws match up exactly with the dimension of the bit that you will be using. Once you are ready, you can then drill your hole. Once you have drilled all of the holes, you can now slide the screws through and attach the cabinet knob on the other side. Do this now with all of your cabinet knobs.
